Democrats in North Dakota are in the minority of voters. North Dakotans of (ND)
have made North Dakota a Republican (strong Republican) state.
In order for Bernie Sanders to become our next U.S. President on January 20, 2017,
he must win at least 270 Electorial Votes in the
General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Bernie Sanders would be amazed to take the 3 (EVs)
from North Dakota.
Your order of entry to the United States was 39. Conscidered to be in the Upper Plains region. On November 8, 2016. North Dakota has 3 electoral votes to give. Before you can vote for him in the General Election, he must first become the the Democratic Nominee.
To make Bernie Sanders the Democratic Party nominee, he first needs to win in Primary's and Caucus's across the country. The date for the Open Caucus for North Dakota is 6/7/2016. NOTE: (* Republican's have a Closed Caucus on a different date.). * Dates and primary format are subject to change - The above was last confirmed with the FEC on 8/19/2015
To win in North Dakota, Bernie needs all North Dakotans who will be at least 18 years old to properly REGISTER as Democrat of North Dakota (or meet other specific designation requirements ie: MA ). In North Dakota you are allowed to vote in the Caucus if you will be 18 by November 8, 2016. Please do not wait until the TBD to be sure you are registered to vote as a Democrat (or meet other specific designation requirements ie: MA )!
Once Bernie is the Democratic Nominee, he will run against the Republican Nominee (and nominees of other parties). The current General Election system requires 270 Electorial College votes. Based upon the 2010 U.S. Census, 3 of them come from North Dakota. North Dakota is a WINNER TAKE ALL state which means all 3 go to the winner. Democrats are disappointed to say North Dakota (ND) was a "Red" state in 2012 with the final elcection vote of 38.69% Democrat and 58.32% Republican. Because it was close, we have to work hard to ensure North Dakota is more strongly Democrat in 2016.
