Democrats in Rhode Island are in the majority of voters. Rhode Islanders of (RI)
have made Rhode Island a Democrat (strong Democrat) state.
In order for Bernie Sanders to become our next U.S. President on January 20, 2017,
he must win at least 270 Electorial Votes in the
General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Bernie Sanders is counting on to Secure the 4 (EVs)
from Rhode Island.
Your order of entry to the United States was 13. Conscidered to be in the New England region. On November 8, 2016. Rhode Island has 4 electoral votes to give. Before you can vote for him in the General Election, he must first become the the Democratic Nominee.
To make Bernie Sanders the Democratic Party nominee, he first needs to win in Primary's and Caucus's across the country. The date for the Semi-Closed Primary for Rhode Island is 4/26/2016. * Dates and primary format are subject to change - The above was last confirmed with the FEC on 8/19/2015
To win in Rhode Island, Bernie needs all Rhode Islanders who will be at least 18 years old to properly REGISTER as Democrat of Rhode Island (or meet other specific designation requirements ie: MA ). In Rhode Island you must be 18 by the date of the Primary (4/26/2016). Please do not wait until the 3/27/2016 to be sure you are registered to vote as a Democrat (or meet other specific designation requirements ie: MA )!
Once Bernie is the Democratic Nominee, he will run against the Republican Nominee (and nominees of other parties). The current General Election system requires 270 Electorial College votes. Based upon the 2010 U.S. Census, 4 of them come from Rhode Island. Rhode Island is a WINNER TAKE ALL state which means all 4 go to the winner. Democrats are happy to say Rhode Island (RI) was a "Blue" state in 2012 with the final elcection vote of 62.7% Democrat and 35.24% Republican. We must work hard to ensure Rhode Island stays Democrat in 2016.
