or email Bernie.Universe@Gmail.com to tell me who needs to be added to South Dakota (mention State name in email subject and message).
Democrats in South Dakota are in the minority of voters. South Dakotans of (SD)
have made South Dakota a Republican (strong Republican) state.
In order for Bernie Sanders to become our next U.S. President on January 20, 2017,
he must win at least 270 Electorial Votes in the
General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Bernie Sanders would be amazed to take the 3 (EVs)
from South Dakota.
Your order of entry to the United States was 40. Conscidered to be in the Upper Plains region. On November 8, 2016. South Dakota has 3 electoral votes to give. Before you can vote for him in the General Election, he must first become the the Democratic Nominee.
To make Bernie Sanders the Democratic Party nominee, he first needs to win in Primary's and Caucus's across the country. The date for the Semi-Open Primary for South Dakota is 6/7/2016. * Dates and primary format are subject to change - The above was last confirmed with the FEC on 8/19/2015
To win in South Dakota, Bernie needs all South Dakotans who will be at least 18 years old to properly REGISTER as Democrat of South Dakota (or meet other specific designation requirements ie: MA ). In South Dakota you must be 18 by the date of the Primary (6/7/2016). Please do not wait until the 5/31/2015 to be sure you are registered to vote as a Democrat (or meet other specific designation requirements ie: MA )!
Once Bernie is the Democratic Nominee, he will run against the Republican Nominee (and nominees of other parties). The current General Election system requires 270 Electorial College votes. Based upon the 2010 U.S. Census, 3 of them come from South Dakota. South Dakota is a WINNER TAKE ALL state which means all 3 go to the winner. Democrats are disappointed to say South Dakota (SD) was a "Red" state in 2012 with the final elcection vote of 39.87% Democrat and 57.89% Republican. Because it was close, we have to work hard to ensure South Dakota is more strongly Democrat in 2016.
